Manuals · LFP 51.2 V

A 5.12 kWh wall pack is not a tubular you can guess.

Covers Dyness DL5.0C / Pro / Tower, Knox LIO / Powerwall 5.12, Pylontech US/UF/UP5000 / Fidus, BYD Battery-Box LV5, Narada NESR 100 Ah, Exide Atlantic, SolarMax 5.12, Inverex INV-LV / Powerwall, Sunwoda MonaWall, Phoenix RLW, MaxPower LV, FoxESS LV. OEM PDFs: Dyness, Pylontech downloads, Knox, BYD. Carton insert wins. Flooded 12 V: tubular manual.

What you bought

A 16-cell lithium-iron-phosphate module with a BMS. Nominal 51.2 V, full ~57.6 V, empty ~48 V (brand windows differ — use the sheet). Usable energy at 90% DoD on a 5.12 kWh pack is ~4.6 kWh. Four 200 Ah tubulars at 50% DoD are the same usable energy and die in 2–4 Pakistani hybrid summers. That is why LFP is the 2026 default and tubular is UPS.

Closed-loop CAN (or RS485) means the inverter asks the BMS how hard it may charge. Open-loop / USE means the inverter guesses voltages. Guessing is how you void a 10-year paper.

Install sequence

  1. Switch OFF. Indoor, dry, ventilated. Not above 45 °C, not on a vibrating mill floor, not in a sealed stairwell that hits 50 °C in June. Ground floor against an internal wall is the usual Pakistani answer.
  2. Mount the wall pack. Leave the manufacturer’s side/top clearances — those are cooling, not feng shui.
  3. Set parallel addresses / DIPs as the sheet before you energise.
  4. Power cables, then comms. Torque lugs. Fit a DC breaker / fuse between pack and inverter.
  5. Switch ON, wake, confirm ~51–54 V at the inverter terminals.
  6. Close breaker. Inverter battery type = that brand’s protocol, not USE. Charge current ≤ pack continuous amps.
  7. First sitting: let PV charge to 100% so the BMS SOC is honest. Do not start a week of night AC on a pack that arrived at 30%.

Full system order (earth → battery → LCD → PV → grid → LOAD): commissioning.

Living with it

DoD 90%. Treat 10–15% SOC as “stop the AC,” not “one more hour.” A BMS low-voltage cut is a hard off of the fridge.

Heat. Pakistani cupboards cook LFP. Charge windows on the sheets are often 0–50 °C, sometimes tighter. Charging a hot pack is how 6,000 cycles become 1,500. If the room is an oven, you undersized the mechanical design, not the chemistry.

Idle / travel. Leaving the house a month: leave SOC mid (40–60%), not empty. Switch-off only after the OEM idle procedure. A pack stored at 0% for six weeks may refuse to wake.

Stacking. Same model, same firmware, same age if you can. Do not parallel Dyness with Pylontech, or a 2.56 kWh 25.6 V brick with a 51.2 V wall, on one CAN bus. Night AC class is two 5.12 packs or a Tower/10 kWh SKU — not hope.

Grid charging. The hybrid can refill the pack from WAPDA at night. That is a bill. Only useful if you priced it (medical fridge, night AC). Default house: PV charges, battery covers shed and evening, grid covers the rest.
